Fatal Highway 401 Crash in Whitby Kills Grandparents and Infant
Tragic Incident
A fiery crash on Highway 401 in Whitby, Ontario, has resulted in the tragic loss of four lives, including two grandparents and their infant grandchild. The incident occurred on Monday evening at approximately 8 pm, involving a collision between five vehicles on the highway.
Police Investigation
According to police, the crash occurred after a vehicle fleeing from a robbery at an LCBO store in Pickering collided with multiple other vehicles. The fleeing vehicle caught fire, and the flames spread to other vehicles involved in the crash. Ontario's police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), is investigating the circumstances surrounding the police pursuit and the crash.
